Ronald’s parents were John Humphrey and Edith Mary Wilkins (nee Toney). He was born in Q4 in Warwick and was educated at All Saints School.

At the time of the 1939 Register, the family were living at 52 Greville and John is described as an Engine Driver.

In the Warwick Advertiser piece below, Ronald is described as ‘Eldest Son’ so we think Ronald may have had a brother. His sister was Pamela Jesse Wilkins (born December 1932) who married a Mr Callow (other details not known) and who died in 2003.
