Dennis Raymond Lloyd’s parents, Evan and Edith, were married in 1905. Their son Robert Henry was born in 1906, followed by Kathleen May (born March 1905) Charles Norman (born August 1910) Dennis Raymond (born September 1911) , twins Peggy and Derek (born 1923) and Ethel May (born 1925). The family lived in Leamington Spa, and were at 48 Clarence Street at the time of the 1911 census.

Dennis’ mother Edith died in 1927, followed by his father, Evan, in 1933.

Dennis married Violet Gladys Parsons in Q2 1935 at Woolwich in London. Violet was born and lived in Warwick. The 1939 Register shows that Violet was a visitor at 6 Linen Street, when the register was compiled.

Wendy Lloyd, Dennis’ granddaughter writes “Dennis and Violet had two sons, both were born in Linen Street. Violet lived in Linen Street until 1956, when she moved to Greville Road, she died there in September 1984.”

Dennis is buried in El Alamein, Egypt.  He and his brother Derek are commemorated on the Leamington Spa War Memorial.

Dennis’ brother, Derek, joined the Navy and was killed at Gibraltar in September 1943.
