Frank was born in Warwick on 26th April 1910. He was the second youngest of six children. He had four sisters Lydia (1899-1969), Annie (1900-1986), Mary Ellen (1904-1988) and Gwendoline (1912-1984). His brother was John (1902-1959).
According to the census of 1911 Frank aged 11 months was living with his family at 110 Avon Street, Warwick. His father, also Frank (1871-1946), was a coach painter. His mother Ellen (1878-1959) nee Griffiths was from Ludlow.
Frank married Elsie Higgins in Warwick in 1938. In 1939 they were living at 6 Friar’s Court, Warwick and Frank was a bricklayer. They had two children – a daughter born in 1941 and a son born in 1943.
