Dusson, Neville John

Age: 24
Date of birth: c1920

Parents: Herbert John and Edith Priscilla Dusson
Wife: Single
Address: Arden Lodge, Corley, Warwickshire

Occupation:

Neville John Dusson was born in Q3 1920 to parents Herbert John and Edith Priscilla. He also had a sister, Kathleen, born in 1915.

The 1939 Register shows the family living at Arden Lodge, Corley, Warwickshire. Herbert is described as a Master Plumber and also an ARP Warden. Neville’s mother is described as a housewife but also an ARP First Aider. Sister Kathleen is a Telephone Operator and the record also shows her married surname of Shirley.

John Dusson Sanders, Neville’s cousin, has kindly provided the following information “During the war the family lived on his (father’s) builders premises on the Foleshill Road and Neville’s father helped with the clearing up after the bombing of Coventry.

Neville attended Keble College, Oxford from 1938-1941. He was very much involved in the church and was ordained.”

Neville’s cousin thinks that his connection with Warwick is due to a close friend, Delanoy Leslie Edmund Saberton, who was the vicar at All Saints Church from 1938-1955 as Neville used to help him out and was also Delanoy’s best man at his wedding.

Neville left his estate of £197 6s 7d to his father, so he was probably single. Rather poignantly John Dusson Sanders adds that Neville’s mother took his death very hard and kept Neville’s bedroom as he had left it for many years. John remembers seeing it in the sixties just as it was the day Neville left.
