Wright, Stephen

Warwick Cemetery 18 C 26

Age: 38
Date of birth: 1882

Parents: John and Eliza Wright
Wife:
Address: 8 Pickard Row

Occupation:

Although his burial slip gives his date of birth as 1879, other records show Stephen was born in 1882 and was baptised on 7th December 1882 at All Saints church, Warwick.

At the time of the 1891 census, Stephen, aged 9, lived with his parents and 5 siblings John (16, employed at the gelatine works), Thomas (14, an agricultural labourer), sisters Ellen (13) and Annie (11) and Jonathan (4) at 8 Pickard Row. Father John was employed as a stoker of a stationary engine.
By the time of the 1901 census, only Jonathan and Ellen were still living with their parents at 8 Pickard Row. Eliza died in 1907, her husband having predeceased her.

This item on Stephen’s inquest tells a sad story.
