To the best of our knowledge – the information below is correct.  However, there were at least three William Webb’s of the same age in the area at the time.  We would welcome any further information or correction of the details below:

William was born in Nottingham.  His father worked as a shoe rivetter. He was the fourth child of six children, four boys and two girls.

He was married to Margaret on 12th February 1907 at St Mary’s RC Church, West Street, Warwick. Margaret was born in Ballindoney, County Wexford, Ireland. They had two children, Hilda who was born in 1908 and John in 1909 or 10.

In 1911 Margaret and her two children were living in Budbrooke Barracks with her two children.  William is included in the Royal Warwick Regiment’s census return for their barracks in Lichfield, where he has already achieved the rank of Sergeant.
