Harry Walters was born in Leamington Spa on the 21st June 1884. His father Henry was a Tailor and his mother was called Eliza. Harry had two older sisters Florence and Edith, one older brother Fred and a younger brother George.

In the 1901 census Harry, aged 16, was living with his family at 20 Chandos Street and he was working as a photographer.

By 1911 he was living and working at 141 Regent Street, Leamington Spa for a licensed victualler as a Barman. 141 Regent Street is now The Royal Pug Public House.

On the 4th December 1911 Harry married Gertrude Annie Green at the Parish Church of Leamington Priors.
