Harry was born in April or May 1892 and baptised on the 5th June 1892 at St Paul’s Church, Warwick. He was the third of Walter and Mary’s three sons.
Harry’s father had his own greengrocery business at 32 Crompton Street and the family continued to live there for the next 30 years.
In 1911 Harry (18) was working with his parents and his elder brother Charles William (22) in their greengrocer business, while Alfred Frances (20) worked as a butcher’s assistant.
Harry married Caroline Greta Newborough in Stourbridge in March 1916, just eighteen months before his death.

Harry’s brother, Charles, served in the Royal Warwickshire Regiment and also died in France, in June 1918.
Walter Snr died in September 1924 and Mary died in May 1926.
