William Henry Rivers was born in January 1899 and baptised at All Saints Church, Warwick on 5th February 1899.
In 1911 the family were living at 62, Avon Street. His father, also William, was working as a Railway Guard. William Henry was one of the 7 surviving children (one had died by 1911). He had one older sister Alice, two younger sisters, Hilda and Maria and three younger brothers Charles. Arthur and George.
His father died in 1941 aged 74 and his mother Agnes lived until the age of 97 and died in 1968.
