At the time of the 1911 census, George was the 3rd of 8 children in the family. He had 2 older sisters (Lucy and Alice Mary), 3 younger sisters (Annie, Edith and May) and 2 younger brothers (Ernest John and Arthur).  His father was registered as a Law Clerk.

This notice in The Killed In Action section of Warwick Advertiser on 1st September 1917 tells us that he was known to his family as ‘Boysie’
