John Albert Eden was born at the end of 1894, and baptised at All Saints Church on 6th January 1895. His parents were John Henry and Charlotte Julia Eden. John was the third son in a family of seven children.
In 1911 the family were living at 42 Lammas Walk, Saltisford. John’s father worked as a Coal Porter at the Gas Works, his brother Sidney was working at the Gelatine Factory and another brother Thomas Henry was at the Cycle Works. John was working as a Groom.
