The registers show John Frederick Blundell was born to Thomas and Emma Blundell in October 1884 and christened at St Paul’s church in Warwick on 2nd November.
The 1891 census shows Thomas and Emma Blundal living at 13 Wallace Street, Warwick with their two sons, John F (6) and Thomas P (4). Thomas Snr. was employed as a brewers drayman. Wallace Street was the site of the Warwickshire Brewery Company until 1896.
Thomas Snr. died on Christmas day 1892 at 8 Parkes Street Warwick. Emma married Peter Lawton on 19th December 1896 and at the time of the 1901 census Emma and Peter were living with her two sons, and his two sons, Joseph (27) and Herbert (14) at 4a Hampton Street. Peter was a printer compositor. John was working as a general labourer.
At the time of the 1911 census, John Frederick Blundal was a boarder with a family called Lawrence at Netherhampton, a village just outside Salisbury and was working as a golf professional at the South Wilts Golf Club. He was single at that time.
Note: although the birth/baptism registers record the name as Blundell, all 3 of the census entries record the name as Blundal.
