Percy was born on 6th August 1886 in Weston under Wetherley. He was baptised in Wappenbury on 12th September.
Percy had two older brothers, Thomas and Herbert, two older sisters, Rose and Annie, and a younger brother Frank. His father William, a Waggoner, died in 1916.
On 9th April 1910 at St Paul’s Church, Warwick, Percy married Elizabeth Elsie May. According to the census of 1911 Percy and Elizabeth were living at 34 Hill Street, Emscote and Percy was working for the Flowers and Sons Brewery as a Carter.
Percy’s brother Herbert also served in the Royal Field Artillery as a gunner. He died in 1919, in Leamington Spa, aged 42.
Both of these notices appeared in the Warwick Advertiser on 27th October 1917
Elizabeth died in Alcester in 1965 aged 78.
