Frank was born to Ada and Alfred Barnes and was christened in the parish of St Mary, Northampton on 29th November 1897.
In late 1903, Ada (nee White) married Joseph Fox who was also from Northamptonshire but by the 1911 Census they were living in Warwick, at 2 Sanders Street, with a 6 year old daughter and a six month old son. Joseph Fox was a carter, working for the railway company. Ada Fox died in 1931.
