Frederick William Tunstall was born in 1886, the second child of Edwin and Julia Tunstall. He was baptised at All Saints church, Warwick on 16th December 1886.

At the time of the 1891 census, Edwin and Julia were living at 43 Avon Street with their 2 daughters, Frances (6) and Beatrice (1) and Frederick (5). Edwin is described as a miller’s labourer.

At the time of the 1901 census, Frederick was staying with his maternal grandparents at 104 Avon Street and working as a baker’s assistant. His parents and sisters Frances, Beatrice and Elsie (13) were living at 39 Avon Street. Edwin is recorded as a Miller.

In 1911 Frederick was living with his parents at 39 Avon Street and working as a baker. His sister Beatrice was the only other member of the household and worked as a packer at the gelatine factory.

Frederick’s brother in law, George Henry Sabin is also commemorated on Warwick War Memorial
