Frank was born in Broadwell, Oxfordshire and baptised at the parish church on 6th April 1879 at 3 months alongside his sister Eliza Harriett, aged 2. His father was a carpenter.
William and Jane had 6 children of whom 4 survived. In 1901 they were living in the village of Kencott in Oxfordshire with just two sons, Charles (26) and Frank (22). William is recorded as a Farmer/Builder (employer) and Charles is recorded as “farmer’s son” while Frank is a carpenter.
Frank married Lillian Maude Harris on 4th June 1904 at St Paul’s Church in Warwick. She was born in Woking in Surrey. At the time they were living at 46 West Street and Frank is recorded as a carpenter.
In 1911 the couple lived at 21 Cherry Street, with their two daughters, Marjorie Francis and Grace Francis. The Spennell’s Trade Directory of 1914 shows them living at 12 Meadow Road.
Frank was living at the Hatton Asylum at the time of his death on 22nd March 1920. He was buried in Warwick Cemetery a few days later on 27th March.
In 1939 Lilian, aged 59, was still living at 12 Meadow Road with sons William (born 1912) and Arthur (born 1917)

Frank enlisted on 7th September 1916 and was discharged on 29th April 1919. Frank’s cause of discharge, under the Kings Regulations para 392 is shown as (XVI) – ‘No longer physically fit for service’ – other records show that he was discharged as being ‘insane’ and given Silver Badge
