Lamb, James

James was the youngest child of John Patrick and Mary A Lamb. He had four brothers and two sisters. His father, who had also been in the army, died in January 1890.

At the time of the 1891 census, James was living with his mother and 6 older siblings at 22 Market Street, Warwick. Mary was working as a general domestic servant, Thomas (18) and John (16) were working as general labourers and Edward (14) was working as a groom.

In 1901 James was living at 38 Avon Street with his oldest brother Thomas. Also in the household were Thomas’s wife Agnes, their 2 young children and 2 boarders. Thomas was employed as a gardener.
