John was born and lived in Stratford-on-Avon District so it is not clear of his connections to Warwick

John was born in Charlcote, the oldest son of Richard and Sarah Ann Haynes. He was baptised in Charlcote on the 22nd February 1891.

In 1911 the family were living in Wellesbourne. John’s father was a shepherd and before joining the army John was a farm worker.
