There were nine children. Frederick had five older brothers, George, William, John, Henry and Walter and two younger brothers, Earnest and Edgar. He also had one younger sister, Minnie.
Frederick was born in Old Milverton in about 1882. His parents were George and Sarah. His father worked as a general labourer and his mother was a charwoman. He was one of nine children and had five older brothers, George, William, John, Henry and Walter and two younger brothers, Ernest and Edgar. He had just one sister, Minnie. Frederick’s father George died in 1906 at the age of 61.
In 1911 his widowed mother Sarah was living at 46a Saltisford with her three youngest children and three grandchildren. She also had a boarder, Francis, who was a Prison Warder.
Frederick was living at Beauchamp Hall, Leamington Spa, working as a servant, an Usher.
