Joseph James was christened on 10th July 1890.

At the time of the 1891 census the family were living at 84 Avon Street.  He had three elder siblings – Minnie (7), Walter (4) and Reginald (2).

By 1901 the family were living at 2 Vine Lane, Packmores.  Minnie and Walter were no longer living with their parents and three more brothers had been born after Joseph – they were Charles F. (8), Bertie E. (6) and Wilfred A. (2).  Joseph’s father, Thomas, is listed as a Cabinet maker.

Joseph’s mother and father, together with the two youngest boys, Bertie and Wilfred were living at 53 Union Road in 1911.  We are unable to find a census listing for Joseph.

In 1913 Joseph married Annie Rawlins.

Joseph was the 6th man on the Warwick War Memorial to be killed in action:
