John was born 1914 in Warwick. John’s father Cecil Hugh de Burgh Whyte (1878-1956) was born in Tipperary, Ireland and when he retired he was a Brewery Official. His mother Mary Lloyd Evans (1881-1954) was born in Warwick and baptised at St Mary’s Church.
John’s grandfather John Lloyd Evans (1848-1926) was a Newspaper Proprietor, printing the Warwick Advertiser, and the family lived at 20 High Street, Warwick from about 1881 up until his death in 1926.
John’s parent’s were married in Warwick on 7th November 1911. John had two siblings both born in Dublin, Anne Cecil (1912-2007) and Frank de Burgh (1915-1976).
