Clarence was born in Warwick in Q1 of 1916 in Chesham Street, Leamington Spa to a single parent, Catherine Williams. He may have had a sister, Mary. He was later adopted by Mrs and Mrs W H Morris of Warwick.

Clarence was an old boy of Coten End School and went on to work at Warwick cinema for nine years. The cinema was on a site which was to become the Donald Healy Motor Co showroom in Coten end.

Clarence married Daisy Evelyn Hubbard on 3rd August 1937 and they went on to have three daughters (Pauline 1938-1945), Evelyn (1937-) and Eileen Mona (1940-1998). In 1939, the family were living at 33 Wathen Road, Warwick. Clarence and Daisy worked together as Daisy is described as a Cinema Attendant.

Daisy remarried, in 1947 to Sidney J Rose. She died in 1998.
