Randall, John William

John’s parents were John Charles Randall (1893-1959) and Florence Arletta nee Warr (1893-1951). At the time of the 1939 Register the family were at 28 Chapel Street and John’s grandmother, Harriet was also living with them.

This branch of the Randall family died out with the loss of the only son and the family grave in Warwick cemetery is now derelict. The inscription on one kerbstone is just legible:
“Treasured memories of our only son John William Randall. Died 29th April 1941 aged 18 years”

Following John’s mother’s death in 1951, his father remarried – to Frances Charlotte Venables – in Rugby in 1952. He died in 1959 and was still living at 28 Chapel Street at the time.
