Geoffrey was born in Medway, Kent in 1920. He had one sister Patricia (1925-2015).
According to the 1939 census the family were living at 39 Greville Road and Geoffrey’s father William (1894-1975) was a General Building Foreman. He had served in the Royal Navy from 1910-1924. Geoffrey’s mother was Isobel Nellie nee Joyce (1899-1980).
In July 1923 she travelled with Geoffrey, aged three, from Biera, Mozambique on the Modasa to Tilbury Docks, London calling at Dar-es-Salaam, Kilindini, Port Sudan, Zanzibar and Malta.

This piece, in the Warwick Advertiser on 23rd August 1940 was part of a series where the paper invited family and friends to share their news of those serving the war effort. At the time Geoffrey had just started his training. He died just over a year later and is buried in Warwick Cemetery:
