George was born in 1921 and had a younger sister, Freda E (born 1924) and a younger brother, Eric P (born 1929).

In 1939, the family lived at 61 Lyttleton Road, Warwick and were still living there when George’s father, William John Duckett, died in 1953. William is described as a ‘motor bodymaker and panel polisher’.

George married Renee Underhill in Q4 of 1942 and they lived at 59 Lakin Road, Warwick. George had the nickname of ‘Sugar’ and he was Captain of the Warwick Arms darts team.

Renee did not remarry and died at Central Hospital in Hatton, nr Warwick in 1987.
