Charles was born in Wasperton, Warwick in Q3 of 1898 and was baptised in Wasperton on 4th September 1898. His parents were George William (1874-1955) and Emily Martha Ward (1875-1946) nee Harling.
Charles was the second of six children. His siblings were Nora (b1896), Ada (1900-1928), Eva (1903-1928), Ernest (1905-1982) and George (1908-1996). According to the 1911 census the family were living in Wasperton and Charles’s father was a farm labourer.
The family moved to Warwick and were living at 56, West Street when Charles died in 1918.
